Day 1

Written with StackEdit.

Day 1

Setting up Google Adsense

Today I learned that I can link my existing Google Adsense account with my main account. I had it previously set up were I was using one gmail account for blogging purposes. Now that I can integrate that account with everything all that matters now is to set it up. With this current blog.

I found it interesting how I earned $3.45 for all my lazy work from the past 3 years. This kind of gives me a glimmer of hope for the future of my profits using Adsense.

I added this blog to the adsense account, well to be monitored anyways. But it won’t allow me to switch adsense accounts which is puzzling to me.

Update: Well I deleted my blog so that I can use my existing adsense account. Couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t do it without deleting it but that’s life I suppose.

Learning Markdown

Well to make this blog I was originally going to use just straight HTML implementing the style tags to implement CSS but then I thought to myself, fuck that lol. Markdown exists for the sole purpose of people like myself who are just starting out learning code. Sure it would’ve been practical to use just straight HTML but I’m sure on my journey I will find out that there are ways of implementing Markdown and then converting it to HTML.

So I’m using Stackedit as my way of uploading my posts onto blogspot. It’s actually turning into one of my favorite sites right now.

Found a great syntax cheat sheet for markdown, I love these things so much! Who ever dedicates their time to creating these sheets you have my love. But here is a link for the cheat sheet I’m using: Markdown Cheatsheet

Time to Read

Creating Android Applications is going to take a lot of required reading on my part. Luckily it’s easy to find great books online. Though I’m not sure if I should promote the use of illegally downloading books but me saying something about it won’t stop you or me from using all the resources possible.

So far I’m simply doing research on which books are the best to read and study from on the aspect of Android Development. This is the tentative list that I have so far:

  1. Professional Android 4 Application Development
  2. Beginning Android 4 Application Development
  3. Android Apps With Eclipse

I think I will start by reading off these books to start my development career, I have a basic/intermediate knowledge of Java time to take it to the next level.

Now I’m going to need some good books on writing good readable code. Here’s the list I’ve got so far:

  1. Code Complete
  2. Clean Code
  3. Design Patterns
  4. Programming Pearls
  5. Agile Software Development, Principles, Patterns, and Practices.

As some of you might guess my list comes from an article called How to Get a Jump Start In Your Programming Career, for those of you who are interested reading this post I suggest you click on this link: Programming Career Article

Time to Launch Again

Well I deleted my previous version of this blog due to the fact that I can't use my google adsense account with it. So I made the decision to recreate this blog and use my existing adsense account to see if it will work. But I will be publishing my last post again on this page. So bear with me for the time being whoever is watching and reading this blog.
